Texte de présentation du thème choisi rédigé par Ukrainian Federation of Yoga :
Yoga, often approached as a physical and meditative practice, is deeply rooted in the emotional and aesthetic dimensions of human experience. The concepts of bhāva (deep emotional states) and rasa (the essence of emotional experience) are integral to Indian spiritual and philosophical traditions, particularly within Bhakti Yoga and the Nāṭyaśāstra. This topic is highly relevant for the contemporary yogic community as it bridges the gap between intellectual understanding and lived experience, offering a holistic approach to spiritual practice.
In today’s fast-paced and often emotionally challenging world, the integration of emotions into yoga practice provides a much-needed means of self-awareness, healing, and transformation. While classical yoga texts emphasize mental stillness, traditions such as Bhakti Yoga and Tantra recognize emotions as a powerful force for spiritual evolution. Exploring bhāva and rasa in yoga allows practitioners to engage with their emotions consciously, transforming them into vehicles for devotion (bhakti), wisdom (jñāna), and self-realization.
By bringing this theme to the forefront of next year’s yoga conference, we can foster deeper discussions on the role of emotions in spiritual practice, bridging ancient wisdom with modern needs. This will not only enrich the European yogic discourse but also empower practitioners with tools to cultivate a more embodied and emotionally aware approach to yoga"
